History
Manali is named after the legendary Hindu sage Manu. According to mythology, Manu, the creator of the world, first landed in Manali after the great flood. The town is mentioned in ancient Hindu texts as the place where Manu created the human race.

Hadimba Temple
Dedicated to Hidimba Devi, the wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata epic, this 16th-century temple is built in a unique pagoda style with a wooden roof. The temple is surrounded by beautiful cedar forests.
